The first step to achieving all of these hairstyles is to wet the hair with water and spray generously with Shea Moisture Kids Coconut & Hibiscus Moisturizing Detangler Spray. This detangler is honestly the best one I have tried because it removes tangles without leaving build up or excessive oil in my daughter’s hair.
Top Knot: After applying detangler, comb through gently. Using a comb, I put the hair into a high ponytail. Then, I slowly twirl the hair around itself to form a bun. Wrap a small rubber band around the bun to keep it in place. Then, I take Herbal Essences Hairspray and apply all over the hair. Using the soft bristle brush, I smooth all of her baby hair down to prevent frizz throughout the day. This hairstyle is a go-to for us on those rough Monday mornings!
Half-Up with Two French Braids: comb through the hair, ensuring there are no knots that will interfere with braiding. I part my daughters hair down the middle, about halfway down her head. I then separate the two pieces and begin braiding each one. I braid them onto the head, and then continue braiding the free ends of the hair. Then, I apply Herbal Essences Hairspray onto the braids to prevent frizz. I brush her baby hair down and make sure it is smooth. One of the cutest things to do is to clip the two braided ends together with her favorite hair bow.
Curly Pigtails: part all of the hair straight down the middle, and turn each half into a ponytail. The hardest part of this hairstyle is making sure the two ponytails are even with one another. I apply Herbal Essences Hairspray to the hair laying on the scalp, then apply the curl defining products to the hair in the pigtails. I use Shea Moisture Kids Curling Butter Cream and Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie – these two products keep her curls tight and frizz-free all day long.
Natural Curls: combing the hair well is essential to preserving flawless curls all day with this look. After combing, I add the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Kids Curling Butter Cream. You can always add a bow to keep hair out of the eyes, or use a bobby pin for the hair in the front. This is my daughter’s favorite because it involves no rubber bands pulling at her hair!
